There's an anxiety that settles in when you hear a creak from underneath the floorboards. It whispers of secrets hidden deep within the house, waiting to be unearthed. A chill runs down your neck as you imagine what might be coexisting in that dark, unseen space. Perhaps it's just an old wire settling, or maybe something more sinister is stirring beneath your feet.
The floorboards themselves tell a story, their grain etched with the passage of time and the force of countless footsteps. Every dent is a clue, whispering tales of past inhabitants and the lives they lived.
